'Kanzan' Japanese Cherry
Prunus serrulata 'Kanzan'

Ornamental Japanese Cherries are often small, spreading trees. There are lots of different cultivars with very different growth habits and flower types. These can range in colour from white to deep pink, and can be single, semi-double or double. All have smooth bark with distinctive lenticels, horizontal marks on the trunk.

'Kanzan' is a small - medium sized, spreading cherry tree. The best time to identify it is during April when it produces masses of big, double pink flowers. Bronze coloured leaves appear at the same time as the flowers.
